1st FLOOR 40-48 FASHION STREET
Project overview
40-48 Fashion Street was acquired by GCU London to expand their premises. (They already occupy the 2nd & 3rd floors of the same building). Our brief was to refurbish the first floor in keeping with the rest of GCU London which we have been heavily involved with for the last 3 years. The existing climate control from the 2nd floor was extended to serve the 1st floor. We appointed a structural engineer to design the concrete floor slab penetrations for the spiral ductwork. All of these works were carried out outside of normal working hours.
Key Objectives
GCU is a working University located in a predominantly residential street of east London. It was crucial that deadlines were achieved, neighbouring and existing tenants were considered at all times, and where appropriate, some works were completed outside of normal working hours to minimise disruption.
