Project overview

North Hertfordshire College Hitchin Centre Block C is the new Hair & Beauty campus of North Hertfordshire College. We were asked to design and completely refurbish the entire block which was an existing 1960’s prefabricated building to accommodate hair and beauty classrooms in addition to a Client Salon area which will be open to the general public for hair and beauty treatments. The salon area was completed after the students had commenced their course, and as such, Prospace worked with the college to minimalize interruptions whilst still ensuring we maintained our programme, services and emergency evacuation routes for all occupants.

Key Objectives

The primary objective was to ensure the teaching areas were completed and ready for occupation prior to the new term commencing.  As the commercial salon is revenue generating, it was imperative that this was completed as soon as possible without compromising design, quality and functionality of the salon.  Site cleanliness was maintained at all times.
